About Hunter
I have always been an innate copyeditor, mentally fixing typos on shop signs and in books as quickly as I could read them. It wasn't until I decided to leave the nursing profession in 2020 that I began to think of turning my knack for copyediting into a career.
As I pursued training and took on my first copyediting jobs, I discovered a professional joy and ease that let me know I was on the right path. I still find science and medicine fascinating; I have found a happy medium as a copyeditor specializing in medical and health education texts. I also have experience copyediting fiction, newspapers, newsletters, and a variety of other print and digital texts.
With the rest of my time, I am a parent to two young kids, a backyard vegetable gardener, and an avid home cook. I live in Philadelphia and I spend a lot of time outdoors in the woods near my house.

I hold a copyediting certificate from UC San Diego Extended Studies and have received additional training in medical copyediting. I have a bachelor's of nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's of arts from Oberlin College.
